With chapters in more than 60 countries, and with more than 125 professional organizations in its membership roster, FIABCI enjoys an international umbrella network of 1.5 million real estate professionals across the various disciplines in real estate, linking finance professionals, developers, builders, appraisers, counselors, residential sales agents, brokers, and asset and property managers across the world.

Founded in 1951, FIABCI has built an enviable reputation as the VOICE OF INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE and enjoys special consultative NGO status at the United Nations on matters pertaining to real estate.

MISSION STATEMENT:      The international Real Estate Federation exists to enable participants in the Real Estate Industry to improve the quality and competitiveness of their activities through the sharing of knowledge, information and business opportunities at a local, national, and international level and to serve the following purposes:

• To provide direct access to international real estate contacts and business opportunities.
• To help improve the working relationship between the public and private sectors for the benefit of the society.
• To facilitate the exchange of information on significant market, economic, corporate, governmental and technological conditions affecting the industry.
• To assist in cultural and educational exchanges among real estate professionals of different countries.

All forms of discrimination are forbidden. This includes discrimination based on creed, race sex, and nationality.

 FIABCI is the forum for all the actors in the world real estate stage including:

• The consultants who assess its best use.
• The valuers who estimate its market value.
• The financiers who provide the necessary funding.
• The developers who make the project materialize.
• The agents who find the occupants.
• The managers who optimixze the investment.
• The bankers.
• The insurance advisors.

MEMBERS MAY BE ANY REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL IN THE LIFE CYCLE OF A PROPERTY.

Membership  are classified in the following categories:

Direct Members:

• National, regional, and multinational chapters
• Multinational Members (Associations whose members are exclusively national associations from several countries).
• Direct Principal Members (Associations of individuals and/or companies providing services to, or associated with, the real estate profession and whose headquarters are located in countries where there is no FIABCI chapter.
• Direct Corporate Members (Multinational companies providing services to, or associated with the real estate profession).
• Direct Public Sector Members (Governmental Agencies or international public agencies).

Members of Chapters:

• Principal Members:   Associations of individuals and/or companies practicing a real estate profession, or providing services to, or associated with, the real estate professions.

• Regular Members  - Individuals or companies practicing a real estate profession.

• Special Members  - Individuals who are not real estate professionals but whose activity is connected with the real estate professions, including individuals representing multinational members, or public sector members.

• Corporate Members  - Companies providing to, or associated with the real estate industry

• Academic Members  - Academic institutions and professional schools whose curricula include subjects related to real property matters.

• Public Sector Members  - National, regional, and local government bodies and public agencies.

• Associate Members  - Individuals or companies which are members of associations that are principal members of FIABCI.

Each member's name, contact information and other data are listed free in the FIABCI Directory.

Each member receives a free copy of the Directory, and the Who's who of International Real Estate, containing the names, contact information, languages spoken and professional specialties of FIABCI members.

World Congress

Held annually during the last week of May, it offers opportunities to members to meet in different countries every year. It is the venue where new ideas on financing, construction and marketing of real estate is shared among members.

European Congresses:
Held every biannually in a city of Europe and organized by the FIABCI European Regional Committee. It brings over 150 participants all over Europe . ( Sofia , Bulgaria 2006)

Asia-Pacific Real Estate Conferences (APREC ).

Held once every two years in a city in the Asia Pacific region. It is organized by the FIABCI Asia Pacific Regional Committee and is attended by over 350 participants from the Asia Pacific region. (Osaka 2005; Korea , 2007)

THE PRIVILEGE OF BELONGING TO THE ONLY TRULY INTERNATIONAL FORUM FOR REAL ESTATE:

FIABCI represents the world's real estate professions through its Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations Organisation.

In addition, every member has the right to participate in chapter activities; committee activities; r un for office in the committees and the Board; as well as Business Meetings of the organization.

FIABCI'S COMMITTEE

 

FIABCI's Committee Structure is divided into three Divisions:

1. The Administration Division, which consists of five "Internal" Committees

The Membership Committee implements the strategies and objectives given by the board concerning the federation's members.

The Conference Committee is responsible for advising the Board and General Assembly on matters related to special events organized by FIABCI Committees or Chapters, using the FIABCI name, involving members from more that two Chapters, assuring that they satisfy the policies and objectives of the Federation as defined by the Board and General Assembly.

The Finance Committee is responsible for advising the Board and General Assembly on matters related to the proper funding of FIABCI's activities, both currents and projected.

The Nominations Committee proposes to the General Assembly: nominations for World President and Deputy World Presidents; Elected Members of the Board; Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Secretaries General of the Specialist, Standing and Regional Committees, Vice-Presidents of the Internal Committees, permanent representatives of FIABCI with the United Nations Organisation.

The Young Members Committee is the only worldwide platform available to real estate professionals under the age of 35. Its purpose is to provide young real estate professionals with new contacts and privileged information to improve their business.

2. The International Relations Division, which includes four Committees:

The International Organisations Committee monitors the work of FIABCI's representatives at important international bodies (including the United Nations and the European Union), ensuring that FIABCI policy is properly co-ordinated and carried out in a consistent manner by the different appointed delegates.

The Exchanges Committee plans and implements programmes to permit its members to travel to other countries, or to receive their colleagues from those countries, in order to experience first hand the methods utilized by real estate professionals abroad, and to participate in study programmes at University and other levels.

ß The Education Committee and the Academic Members Circle deal with real estate education and professional standards.

 

3. The Professional Division , which includes three committees concerned with activities designed to further the level of expertise of the real estate professional, to promote the sharing of experience among these same professionals, and to communicate business opportunities between them.

The Principal Members Council allows the national associations which are members of FIABCI to work together for their optimum benefit. The council is responsible for the professional programmes at FIABCI congresses.

The Marketing and Networking Committee is responsible for organizing the marketing sessions and the real estate panoramas which take place at FIABCI congresses.

The Forums Committee enable members to exchange information regarding educational, professional and business techniques, regulations, norms and new developments within their particular specialty, and provide an opportunity to share information with other FIABCI members and interested professionals throughout the world. There are five forums in the committee:

•  Rural Property Forum

The Strategic Planning Committee assists the Board in its planning activities.
